Mala Vadgama explores mental health topics within the Black, Asian, Minority & Ethnic community of women

Centric are excited to introduce a new visual aspect to the Equality Exhibitions, Photography by Mala Vadgama.

Mala is a visual artist from London, who uses photography to raise awareness of the hidden cultural views on mental health within the BAME (Black, Asian, Minority & Ethnic) communities of women.

Mala’s photography focuses on the struggles of mental health issues, including loss, depression and eating disorders. The exhibition features women from different cultures, highlighting the misunderstood nature of mental health struggles and the cultural judgements that are made about mental health.

Thank you Centric, landlords, and everyone who’s played a part in establishing this fantastic community resource in Brighton. You’ve made a crucial difference to the development of our charity and the health and well-being of a large number of people in need
