Dot Com Children’s Foundation helps children develop the knowledge and confidence they need to make good decisions in life, especially about their own safety. They are committed to empowering children. They are dedicated to building children’s self-worth and values to ensure they reach their full potential. From child sexual abuse to gang culture to online safety, children can be exposed to many different risks every single day. It is impossible for parents and teachers to be with children all the time: they must have the means to protect themselves!

Their programme is a universal safeguarding tool. It is taught in schools using high quality Dot journals to help every child realise their potential. The journals also help highlight children who need more targeted intervention. With the support of the Home Office, they work in collaboration with teachers, parents and the Police to tackle the structural problems that can have far reaching effect on whole families and communities.

Currently there are over 40,000 children benefiting from the programme across the country. However, with your help they want to reach every child, in every school, in the UK because every child has the right to be free from fear. Every child should have the opportunity to achieve their dreams. And every child should believe in themselves. Helping them to help children means bringing real, effective change to children’s lives.

The Dot Com Children’s Foundation was founded in December 2013 with a simple mission:

To reach every child in the United Kingdom. Only with your help can we make this possible. On September 15th 2015 the Dot Com Children’s charity held a fund raising dinner at Mansion House, in the city of London.

They had photographers covering the event, below are some pictures from the event:

They had a champagne reception, an exquisite 3 course menu with fine wine and a fantastic dance show provided by the stars of strictly ballroom. Kristina Rihanoff, patron of Dot Com Children’s foundation said:

Thank you all so much for supporting this year’s fund raising diner at Mansion House, our next strictly ballroom event is at the BT Tower on 25th February 2016.

Len Goodman, BBC Strictly Judge:

“The experience and learnings that our children get at home, at school and living through their formative years determine their personalities, their levels of happiness and what they go on to do in the world. The Dot Com Children’s Foundation provides a support platform for our nation’s children, empowering children to practice positive values and make safer choices in life.”

Jack Dromey – Shadow Police Minister, MP:

“I am strongly supporting the work of Dot Com working together with schools here in Birmingham and the police to ensure all young people grow up free from fear. An excellent programme that enables young people to spot signs of danger.”

Pictures of the dancers and celebrities can be found on Dot Coms website here. Under the Mansion House post. There is also a short clip from the evening to give you a sense of how the evening went, the password required is dotcom.

Due to loss of some of our funding we were no longer able to afford to remain in our current office space. This meant staff were losing their office and meeting space, with no alternative place to work.
