Chloe's and Sophie's Special Ears Fund

We are always happy to help promote and raise awareness of the charities that are part of the Centric Family.

CSSEF 1

Today we are covering a small local charity based in Camberley known as CSSEF or Chloe’s and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund. Their aims and objectives include;

– Raising deaf awareness in the local community of Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey;

– Enhancing the sound acoustics in classrooms of deaf children in mainstream schools by providing resources, materials and equipment.

– Providing resources and equipment to deaf children to support their emotional well-being.

CSSEF are looking for thrill-seekers that fancy an adrenaline rush whilst doing some good by raising money for their charity. They have a range of forthcoming activities:

24th September 2016 – Fire walking in Tongham

7th May 2017 – Skydiving in Salisbury

June 2017 – Abseiling

June 2017 – Bungee jump

September 2017 – Wing walking

What does your money do to raise awareness of deafness?

£3 buys teddy bear hearing aids to go into a Deaf Awareness Story Sack
£3.50 buys one deaf awareness story book
£5 buys ear defenders for deaf awareness in classrooms
£6 buys a Sign Language book
£16.00 buys a teddy monkey wearing a cochlear implant
£30 buys a pair of Shoes for a radio aid user
£35 buys a vibrating watch to use in school
£45 buys a puppet with signing hands
£170 buys a deaf awareness workshop

These are just a few examples of how a few pounds really does make a BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

Help us raise deaf awareness. You are the ones who help CSSEF make the difference in our community.

 What does your money do to help a deaf child?

£30 buys a vibrating watch to let them know to check for bubbles in their hearing aids at schools.  This provides independence and is a confidence builder.

£50 buys hessian to put behind notice boards of the whole school to reduce echo’s.

£90 pays for a term of deaf friendly swimming lessons.

£430 pays for a parent to learn BSL level 1.

£250 buys a thick pile rug to reduce echo’s.

£1400 buys a personal radio to give to a deaf child to enhance sound acoustics and also for the child’s well being in school.

£1,500 buys a Soundfield System to improve the sound acoustics for the child in school.

These are a few examples of where CSSEF really needs your help to support deaf children in school.  Do something amazing today and change their education.

 

Due to loss of some of our funding we were no longer able to afford to remain in our current office space. This meant staff were losing their office and meeting space, with no alternative place to work.
