Make May Purple for Stroke
Posted: 1st May 2019
May is Stroke Awareness Month and the UK’s Stroke Association is asking people to get involved and help to show support and Make May Purple.
What is make May Purple for Stroke for?
Make May Purple for stroke is our annual stroke awareness month, taking place every May. Stroke strikes every five minutes, and destroys lives. Help us rebuild them.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. That’s because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. Recovery is tough, but with the right specialist support and a ton of courage and determination, the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.
With more donations and support from you and your community, we can rebuild even more lives. Because we believe that everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke.
How your money helps….
By getting involved and fundraising for us, you’ll be playing an invaluable role in supporting our services and helping more people to rebuild their life after stroke. As many of you know, feeling yourself again after a stroke can be a very long and difficult journey. There are enormous challenges, not only for stroke survivors, but for their loved ones too. But with the right support, stroke survivors can begin rebuild their life finding the new normal after stroke.
