National Coming Out Day

Founded in 1988, National Coming Out Day has grown massively and becomes more well known each year, this year marking it’s 30^th anniversary!

‘Coming out’ means to express your sexuality and feel proud of who you are. This national LGBTQ awareness day focuses on coming out to friends, family and colleagues and living life openly

It is believed that homophobia thrives in an atmosphere of silence and ignorance, therefore once people know they have loved ones in the LGBTQ community, they are far less likely to maintain homophobic views.

Centric Community Projects has teamed up with the UK Equality Council to create The Equality Exhibition in Aberdeen. On 11^th October 2018, we will be hosting our National Coming Out Day in conjunction with the exhibition. Keep an eye on our website www.centricprojects.org for more information coming soon.
