Equality Journeys

With the world slowly waking up out of a turbulent, emotional Lockdown, Centric spent a day with 3 extraordinary humans and the UK Equality Council to have an open conversation about their experiences living as a transgender Malaysian and a gay Indian couple.

Vasunthra Sundram, Ranbir Singh Dhillon and Manoj Kumar Parambath Manokar have all experienced hatred, exclusion and embarrassment due to the way they have chosen to live their life, but after years of struggling they have learnt that they must accept themselves and are now living their life authentically after years of trying to conform.

Through an emotional discussion the three openly talked through their experiences of Coming out (revealing yourself to others), the various opportunities they have come across, their own independent journeys and action steps that need to be taken by the wider collective to move the LGBTQ+ community along globally.

Keep an eye peeled for the captured discussions that will be released in the next few weeks.

Due to loss of some of our funding we were no longer able to afford to remain in our current office space. This meant staff were losing their office and meeting space, with no alternative place to work.
